In a move that will expand its footprint in western Michigan, top 40 accounting firm Rehmann will be combining with fellow Michigan-based firm Walker, Fluke & Sheldon (WFS), effective Aug. 1.
Operating under the Rehmann name, WFS’s three Michigan locations in Hastings, Ionia, and Richland will remain open, and all employees will continue to work in their respective offices.
The business combination will bring additional value and resources to meet client needs, including technology and cyber-consulting, HR solutions, and CFO advisory services, among others, Rehmann said in a news release.
“WFS is known regionally as a great community partner in West Michigan and shares Rehmann’s values of fostering meaningful relationships with clients,” Stacie Kwaiser, CEO of Troy, MI-based Rehmann, said in a statement. “The collective WFS associate team will be a great addition to the firm and will help us continue to maximize client potential in that region.”
Rehmann COO Stephen Blann added, “This mutually beneficial decision will offer Rehmann and WFS associates the chance to learn from one another. We look forward to onboarding the WFS team and welcoming their clients, knowing that the addition of their expert knowledge will help us fulfill our mission to accelerate our clients’ and associates’ goals.”
Founded in 1976, WFS provides comprehensive business solutions to both nonprofit and for-profit companies. The accounting firm employes 22 associates and offers client services ranging from bookkeeping to estate planning.
“We are incredibly excited to be joining the Rehmann family and look forward to the new opportunities it will provide for our associates and clients,” said WFS Managing Partner Kathy Sheldon. “I am eager to continue working directly with our clients, maintaining our commitment to providing the best services and building the best relationships possible. Rehmann shares all our core values, and we are confident this business combination will allow all parties to flourish.”
